I’m an Anglican priest and I had the privilege of meeting Dr Tayo Adeyemi on a retreat he was speaking at for about a dozen evangelists in January 2007 run by the Philo Trust.
I was struck by this big hearted and humble servant of God who had the ability to minister powerfully in Word and Spirit in a way that transcended culture & denominational affiliation.
I was in what was perhaps the lowest period in my life and Dr Tayo gave a prophetic word that released a breakthrough to me and ministered healing to me in a way that was life changing. I think when people say an event is ‘destiny defining’ it is often hyperbole- but this truly was!
We later went for a walk around the grounds of Hartwell House and I remember his pastoral attentiveness as he listened to my story. He told me he nearly never gave the prophetic word-fearing it could never be relevant to a small group of evangelists-but felt urged by the Lord to do so.
I will never forget him as long as I live and am profoundly grateful to him for being open to the Holy Spirit and obedient to His voice.
